To everyone who participated, played, donated—THANK YOU!
We surpassed my goal this year of doubling what we brought in last year! This was originally put together to serve the children of the Porcupine district of Pine Ridge, but this year we had enough gifts to take care of the kids in four districts!! My dream is to eventually cover the whole reservation.
I could go on and on about how wonderful it was but I think Ill let the pictures speak for themselves. Click on any photo to see a bigger image.

I do want to thank the people involved in this year's show. Without their help it wouldnt have been as successful as it was.
First of all BJ Huchtemann from The Reader, who got The Reader and the Blues Society of Omaha involved. Without her ideas and input, this year wouldnt have been as big.
John Heaston from The Reader for sponsoring the event, taking care of posters and tons of great publicity ideas.
Terry OHalloran from Shag and The Blues Society of Omaha, for sponsoring and providing the venue for the second show.
Michael Campbell from Mick's, whos been involved from the beginning.
The sponsors of the event: D-Rocks Music, Retro Recycle, The Reader, Liquid Courage Tattoo, The Blues Society of Omaha, Shag, and Mick's.
Thanks to Niz Proskocil from the Omaha World Herald, BJ from The Reader, Angi Sada from The UNO Gateway for invaluable press coverage of the event. Also, I dont know who it was from KETV who jammed a camera in my face and said start talking but thank you for the coverage. (I heard I looked like a deer in the headlights! I know I felt like it!)
Tracy Wolfe from The Omaha City Weekly for getting me coverage in their paper even though it was sponsored by the competition! And for lots of other help as well.
My friends Shayne and Sarah for taking care of the door at Mick's and Andy and Wendell Jackson for taking care of the door at Shag.
My friends Shayne and Brandy for going with me to Pine Ridge.
A huge thank you to Jim Avilla at Wise-Mack Truck Leasing for providing us with a truck to get everything there!
Jim Bogensberger, Liz and John Manhart for providing exceptional audio for the events. (Liz doing a wonderful job in spite of having the flu and by the looks of her, a 130 degree fever. What a trouper!)
The wonderful and talented musicians; John Henry, Gerald Lee Jr., Korey Anderson, Acoustic Groove, The BSO Allstars, The Side Effects ( My favorite!), The Mercurys, and Sarah Benck and The Robbers.
Last but not least my parents Jim and Joyce for turning their basement into a toy warehouse and providing filled stockings for all the kids. And for putting up with me throughout the years!
I hope Im not forgetting anyone. If I am, I apologize and thank you.
You all brought so much joy to the kids, and lots to me as well! See you all next year. (Lets try to double it again!)
Your grateful friend, Lash
